What A Year That Was – Roll on 2021

Hi Brian here, and WOW the end of the year! A sure relief for most of us! What with all this COVID-19 lockdowns. Unfortunately, the death rate is still climbing. Roll on 2021!

What’s been Happening?

Here in East Anglia in the UK, we have moved quickly into Tier 3, then Tier 4. We got to Christmas and the Tier 4 area here was expanded considerably, now includes London, East Anglia, and the South East.

That meant NO holiday family meetups. Have not seen the children or grandchildren except for when we get to connect up on Zoom.

The IM books are still available, go here.

The activity books have become stalled, had some issues. They will definitely be sorted out in the New year. I will have more time in then as the day job has turned into redundancy.

How was 2020?

For me it seemed that 2020 was going tobe full of promise. It was going to be the year when everything falls into place. The year when it all comes together, eureka as the the famous Greek man said.

There was also lots of talk about getting the VISION. The world seemed to be heading for a high. The date 20/20, being synonomous with having perfect vision.

Just under 3 months into the year and the now familiar phrase ‘Covid Lockdown’ appeared. ‘It will all be over in a few weeks’. Was a familiar saying, which turned out to be completely wrong.

We just seemed to stumble from one lockdown to another, just the phrasing changed. Tier 3 was a form of lockdown.

Suddenly there was a completely previously un mentioned, new Tier 4 invented, more of a lockdown with out using the term lockdown.

Now it is the end of 2020, the Tier 4 non lockdown is upon us. Well it feels like a lockdown as we are advised to stay home, cannot meet anuone at home or in the garden, and everywhere you may want to go to is closed. Roll on 2021!
